If your 4 bolt engine doesn't have bolts in it for a windage tray I wouldn't put one in it. You want to run whatever bolts or studs it had in it when it was align honed. Changing them means another align hone. At least that's how we did it in the shop I worked in

So went out and pulled the pan on the forged 355 and its got a canton pan with built in windage tray. I called the machine shop and for them to rebalance,zero deck,and tear down/reassemble and check bearing clearance is $600. I just need to find a good forged piston for n/a.

Very interesting OP. Thats the first ive ever seen of that happening to a stock windage tray. Which pan did you go with?

I have a canton pan that came with the motor I got last year. The only thing I wish is that it had a 6in rod but it is what it is. Dose any one know if this is a good piston set? http://www.jegs.com/i/Mahle/644/SBC550030F05/10002/-1
I can get one for 550.

Also I did find a small dent in the windage tray that lines up with a rod bolt. So I am definitely building the other motor.lol
