    Good question. I'm curious.

Just to clarify, when I say distributor, I don't mean a crank trigger deal. Just talking about a standard HEI type setup.

Why in the world would you have a dual plane intake in a MODPA class....?

The reason you would run a dual plane intake in mod is because it's not legal in extreme street at the moment.

Just to make sure, being that I'm redoing my whole setup, a carb/dizzy with a single plane is 200lbs. A 24x, individual coil packs, and a single plane is 100lbs.
For this year, yes. Aside from editing the rules just to make them more clear, we do not want to keep switching things up. We intend to make an official announcement about a "town hall" style meeting to take place after the awards ceremony where everyone can voice their opinion on the rules, the way things were ran....anything about anything can be brought up and we WILL take that input and apply changes to the 2016 Shootout. Please understand that we felt it necessary to get the rules out ASAP so there was ample time for people to get their cars together. After the input we receive at the meeting, there's a very good chance we will lock the rules for a few years just so people can feel comfortable making changes to their cars without worrying if that change will only last for a year before things are changed again. I just ask that you bear with us this first year while we get the ball rolling.

I believe the reason for specifying single plane is because that is the upgrade of choice at the modified power level. A dual plane intake is usually considered to be more rpm limiting than a single plane. However, allowing the use of a dual plane intake in the extreme street class needs is something that I PERSONALLY (I'm speaking on my own behalf here) think needs to be talked about at the meeting.

Again, I know that both of you guys are lifetime LTXers and your input is very important, but for this year I think we should just take the rules regarding carbureted intakes/conventional distributors for what it is and hash it out at the meeting. Deal?

I'm 24x anyway. I just don't understand how a step backwards is a higher penalty. I asked asked a legit question, regardless if it was for me, Larry, or anybody else wondering but not asking.

My reply was directed to everyone, not just Ryan. There's nothing wrong with asking for clarification on the rules. There's nothing wrong with asking the logic behind why a rule is the way it is. We just don't want things to escalate to point where people are at each others throats. We are a close community and most of the time, a family. We don't want to see any fractures that ultimately drive an already small group of people apart.

Def no fighting here. I was following the thread ans just noticed the constant use of the word SINGLE PLANE and wondered if there was gonna be a seperate stipulation for DUAL PLANE...

If my vette is done by then... its gonna be a carbed DUAL plane on the bottle that i will register in as many classes as i can... i dont care if im competitive or not... as ive said every year...i think this event is about getting together ....and our community. ... as far as the racing goes... thats just extra.

If the event was just a gtg of the community id still be there...supporting.
