    Default 93 Rear end swap???

Hey guys I plan on doing a rear end swap in my 93 formula, but after making a few phone calls I found out that 93 is one of the special years that I cannot have a chip burned to recalibrate the speedometer for the gear change from the stock 3.23 to a 3.42. So I was wondering, is there a certain part off of a 93 manual six speed car that is interchangeable with a 93 auto four speed can to keep my speedometer accurate after doing the rear end swap??? THX HENRY

I know the with the auto trans you can replace the gears in the VSS to calibrate but not sure about the manual trans. I swapped in a 94+ t56 in my car with a higher pulse rate and used the Dakota digital speedo recalibration box to set the speedometer. This unit will work for you as well.

I've used the Dakota digital SGI-5 three times now. Never got the SLP boxes I tried to work. I found an AWESOME installation tutorial on line when I did Steve's car in 2012 that I'll scan and post later this evening. If you need help figuring out the calibration I'll throw some initial settings up too.

How does the dakota digital unit work? does it have to be wired into the car? or is it a plug and play?

You've got to wire it into the car, but it fits VERY well under the HVAC controls (use sticky tape velcro to hold it up) and the instructions I'm going to post have you tap in at C220 which works BEAUTIFULLY well.

Here's the instructions. I do have these backed up in case they ever take it down:

For the calibration, use the calibration LOW chart, divide your old ratio by your new ratio IIRC. So 3.23/3.42 = .944 which on the chart is equal to inbetween .941 and .948. So start at the .941 settings, and use the fine setting to adjust on the fly until the speedo reads correct. Shouldn't take much. If you have a smart phone download a GPS Speed app and use that to calibrate. Piece of cake.
