    Bump...
only thing left I need is a good crank for a 383. I have a cast eagle right now and really don't want to throw that in with the forged stuff I just bought.

I have a complete forged short block. It's dang nice.

    Forged Mahle flat tops
    Forged Callies 6" rods
Forged and nitrided 4340 steel Howards Cams/Callies 3.75 stroke crank
Pro-Gram reinforced 2 bolt main caps (very nice and very strong)
    New Melling oil pump
    All newly built and gorgeous.

I got an Ohio forged crank, was I think $530 shipped brand new. We have a guy local boosting one up to 1200-1300 hp. Not selling mine, just letting you know where you can find a good priced new one.

    Making you silky smooth...

Check out Howards Cams "Track Smart" forged cranks. This is the crank I bought. 100% USA made and less than $700 (when I bought it anyway).

I believe this crank is even on Summit Racing. It needs to be a 1 piece rear main seal crank.

I appreciate the info guys those are both in the range I have to spend on one and will do some shopping around. I looked at scat they have one at 600 something dollars. Any feedback with those? I have scat 6.0 h beam rods that I'm using and some srp pistons. Not needing anything to crazy just something to hold some mild boost (8-10 psi )

Well If I am spending between 6 and 7
Hundred dollars, I would buy the Made in the USA crank before the foreign (Scat) crank. That's just me.

I have not heard anything bad about Scat, though.
