Taking early guesses...
So, my car will see some dyno rollers again here hopefully in a month or less.
Last good dyno was 614 RWHP, and 555 RWTQ. That was with a very large custom cam, stock PCM, opti and AFR 180 heads and stock ported intake, a maxed out D1SC at 15#'s of boost and meth injection.
I did the 24x conversion, swapped the intake to a super vic efi intake, and different style 58mm TB and did 624 RWHP, and 545 RWTQ.
All we are doing is changing the heads (and with more air to breath, also upgrading injectors). The heads are now AFR 227's.
Any guesses on what I'll put down? I can go into more detail if requested on the whole build, but I figured most probably already know.
I ask because I have a friend who believes I will see almost no gain. Another who thinks 50-70 HP gain.
I want to see what others think it will throw down.1995 Z28 - disfunctional now, perhaps insane after its "treatment"

I just looked at an old thread on another website, where I asked the exact same question when I was considering upgrading to AFR 227's years ago.
The consensus thought I would see around 700 RWHP (that would be an 85 RWHP gain fro my last good running dyno pull).
interested to see what it does...1995 Z28 - disfunctional now, perhaps insane after its "treatment"

The cam is very large, and the blower wants to make more peak power, but the dyno chart falls on its face just below 6,000 RPM. Yes the AFR 180 heads were ported. Not nearly the same volume that the AFR 227's flow, nor not near the same chamber size. (54cc vs 65cc).
Yes, I also expect to see a decrease in boost, but at the expense of more power.
The large cam, the large intake, the maxed out D1SC; all of this was being choked by the smaller heads on my setup. We saw it time and time again on the dyno, backed up by engine builder advise, to tuner advice, the all agreed that the heads were too small for my application.1995 Z28 - disfunctional now, perhaps insane after its "treatment"

Is the site logging u out because u are using the ltx app. If so, I suggest using tapatalk or a computer. That is one of the glitches of the app.
