Sparkplug wire was off and cranked it, now won't start
My car wont start.
I changed my sparkplugs, BUT I left off a plug wire! and thentried to crank the car. I plugged it up and it still didnt crank up.
Im hoping that I got plug wire 6 switched with plug wire 4 because that was the next one I changed.I think I just grabbed wire 6 and put it in sparkplug 4 and it didnt start up.Then I realized that spark plug 6 didnt have a wire hooked up and plugged 4 into 6 and then tried to start it again.
Did I mess something up by trying to starting the car without a spark plug wire connected. Could that mess something up and if I did cross them over could I have messed up the optispark.
Im going to check tomorrow if I mixed up the wires.

Not that I am know of so it must be that you left something unplugged or knocked something loose so double check your work.
Sometimes you can dislodge things as you work on them so look it over and re trace your steps to see what has changed and I am sure you will find itIf you don't stand behind our MIlitary then feel free to stand in front of them. <---- This is my oldest son (PROUD DAD HERE) Mike (just plain mad) Madman337 1993 Camaro Z/28 A4 all stock other than a muffler and LCAs @292K+ miles. 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche. 1970 Pontiac Firebird. 1972 Camaro, 1994 Corvette, 17 Fusion Sport AWD V6 Twin Turbo

Yep, I got them switch backwards, but it was 4 and 2 i think. Then I tried to start it and it backfired bad. I kept trying to start it but it would never start up.
Do you all think I just flooded the spark plugs with fuel? I'm going to take them out and clean them tomorrow.93 Z28, 383, PI 3200, Strange 12 bolt, 3.73, Strange coilovers, suspension, and going 24X... for three years or so.

You need to check the routing of every one of your plug wires. Backfiring is a sure indication that one or more are not on their correct plugs.

Like whats been said it's easy to get the wires on the wrong plugs and backfiring is a common indicator that's what's happened!

Well, I couldn't ever get it started so I took the Z to a shop and like thought, the opti went out. This is the first time in the 8yrs that I owned the car that it went out. I think I'm going to go the 24x route and just get rid of it.
