    Default Home Made tools.

So like some of us on the site are very good with their hands and head.

I would like to keep the once use only tools off if possible. Not saying that some of those tools have come in handy. But mostly tools that get used on a good bases.

This is one of the ones I'm very proud of.

    look what i made.jpgbunch of metal.jpg

There is one I've wanted to build.

    beadroller.jpg

Its a bead roller for custom intake tubing or aluminum rad hoses.

    Have fun and enjoy.

I made two tools for removing the door bars in my car out of a couple of sockets and some band iron. I can post pics later tonight.

I think he means the safety bars from the factory that are inside the doors between the inner and outer skin , for side impact safety.... usually removed for weight reduction.

It shouldn't take special tools for those. I did it with hand tools and about 30mins including taking off the door panels and taking out the speakers (which you have to do). It was actually easier than I thought.

Popo your right. Blackbird On a Pontiac there's more room between the outer door skin and the bolts that hold in the side impact bars (door bars) so no special tools are needed. The camaro's have barely enough room to get your hand in there. You can get a socket on the bolt heads but no room for a ratchet and they're too recessed to use a ratchet wrench. Sorry I forgot to post when I got home, I'll try to remember tonight.

I've made some crazy get by tools before but only cause I didn't wanna go buy the proper tool or the store was closed. I once broke my snap ring pliers and made one from a needle nose and a fork.

Sorry it took so long here they are 10mm and 15mm. Been cut and welded, thin enough to squeeze between the door bar and outer skin and still deep enough to get to the bolt head.

Ive got quite a few home made tools, but this is the only one I feel is worthy of showing.
Its a 2'x3' blast cabinet I built out of some wood, two flood lights and a syphon feed sandblaster. For being wood it has held up suprisingly well. Ive ran both sand and glass bead through it and it works great! It is rediculously handy to have in the garage and only cost me about 100 bucks.
