    In all honesty you should post a thread in WWW.s10forum.com since a lot of those guys have had many things happen and found solutions.
    I think it is the ignition switch, if it is save yourself the problem and get it from the dealer........ I had to replace mine a while back and I got one from autozone it failed to work I went to the dealer and purchased a GM model and no problem.
