I had/have a few nasty issues with mine as well. It seems like maybe these weren't manufactured with quality control as a priority.
I installed mine when I had the motor and K member out of the car, which was awesome. I did have to get out the cutting wheel and cut some clearance in the K member on both driver and passenger side. Other that, the install went fine, until.......
I'm at the dyno. They find out that the number 8 primary tube is touching the fiberglass heater box, melting it and releasing toxic fumes into their shop. No more dyno day. The box is going to have to be clearanced, or the header tube will have to be heated and "persuaded" to clear the heater box.
I also had some issues with getting the y-pipe slipped over the collector on the passenger side. I had to have it flared larger in order for it to fit.
I didn't have any steering shaft issues, but I went with the LS shaft to purposely avoid the chance of having issues.
The ground clearance is pretty sweet though.
Oh, and watch out if you're using locking header bolts...not the Percy's split-lock kind, but the type that you slip a piece of sheet metal over the bolt and use an e-clip to secure it. I had to re-shape a few primaries with a punch and hammer to get them all to fit. Not too big of a deal though.'97 Z28...Sleeper 648 RWHP 585 TQ - Speed INC Tuned! 383, F1A, blah blah
