Yes the centering springs are very stiff. It's been a few years since I had the ripper, but the MGW does seem to have extremely short throws and I have mine set as long as the handle will allow.

The top does have a lip around it to keep things...
The top does have a lip around it to keep things from falling off easy, but It does need a little better system. If it didn't have the black pad, it would be deep enough, but the pad keeps stuff put.

I used an endmill, but could also be done by drilling a hole the size of the slots you need and then use a cutoff wheel to cut from both sides of the hole to the edge.

Well I did the trade. The hood is a knock-off, and will need a little work around the scoop, but the spoiler is a real SLP SS spoiler. Both are brand new and never installed.
