But tonight will getting ready to purchas them i found these:

http://oewheels.net/oe-vette-zo7-18-b-ss-2ps-n1-firestone.jpg

I have Hypersilver C6Z06 rims now, but in 17's and with no deep dish. I like the C6Z06 design, but am not too sure about the alan head "rivits." help me out my LT1 breathern!

If those didn't have rivets I'd say go for them... but if those are the two choices, go with the first ones

I like the second ones better.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say the 2nd set. Y2k's are played out.

I agree with going to the 2nd set. They look way cooler. :)

LOL, it is damn near a tie here and at my local club's site. I am still debating. I like the clean lines of the y2k's and the fact they look knida like SP500's but eh Z06 ones are def different. UGH!!! LOL

Fastbird
03-10-2009, 07:37 AM
Keep it clean. The SP502K's are MUCH cleaner than the others being without the the fake rivets.

Fake rivets FTL....

Go with the first ones. If you regularly drive the car they will be much easier to keep looking clean and nice....Thank me later!;)

Both look great and you couldnt go wrong with either of them. I like the first one better though.

gross. spare us all and stop the black wheel shit. they only look good if they're a true deep dish, and even though they advertise both of those wheels as being "deep dish," they're weak sauce. if you're gonna get black wheels, go expensive (ie 360 forged) or your car will look like cheap ebay crap... just my two cents.

GreenZ96

I like my black pc'd zr1's and they dont look like cheap ebay shyt. ;)

Rivits are nothin more than brake dust collectors

jaysz2893
03-10-2009, 11:27 AM
well the only reason i was going with black wheels was the color scheme i am doing with the car. I have a dual black stripe on the scoop of the Ultra Z hood, a black Z29R spoiler and a berger panel. I am thinking of the y2ks cause like was said the rivits are dust collectors and will look bad if i dont keep em really clean. Here is a better picture than my sig pic of my car, and yes all the stuff on it came off of ebay.

i think your current wheels look really good... i think black wheels will just darken the whole car.. number one reason i don't want blacked out corners because it'll make the whole front end that much darker..

do whatever will make you happy with your car
....as long as there aren't any rivets :shame: lol

Since those are out, have you thought about these:

Call911 has them in 18x9.5 and 18x10.5, and it's got dang near a 4" lip on the rear. Looks pretty good on red camaro's too:

http://www.groupawheels.com/images/Products/eb29aad0-ba2f-4098-8647-a2bfc74d68d7CAMARO_7518-500.jpg

Catch is they're a little more expensive at $1150ish a set. Could also do gunmetal or magnesium finish (dark or light grey).

I love the Drift R's but my budget with tires is 1600$ (my IRS return) I am just gonna wait till end of april. The big car shows dont start until the summer.

those are kinda cool, i've been wanting some deep dish zr1's to come out. only thing i don't understand is how the offset will look since zr1's already stick out a little as 17x11's.

jaysz2893
03-12-2009, 10:26 AM
Yeah, i am wondering that too. The offset is 50mm like the standard zr1, so I assume they are the same

I am mounting these same wheels up next week sometime once I get my tires for them. Doing a 275/40/17 up front and 315/35/17 out back. These have a 50mm offset rear and 56mm front.

Awesome! Post up some pics ASAP. BTW where did you buy them from. I found 2 places that have em, just looking for a reccomendation.

I been doing research and i think i can fit these on the rear without BFH or rolling the lip. I am lowered but only 1 inch in the rear 1.5 in the front. I have an ADJ Panhard, so i can center the rear easily.

i'm lowered almost 2 inches around and have no trouble with 315's.. i've only rubbed a couple of times on the back right on big bumps.

Pics will be up as soon as I get them on.

I haven't received them yet, but I got them on ebay. I talked to the seller today and I should have them in a few days. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290299915420&category=43957&viewitem=

Yeah, I dont think these require bfh or rolling. I looked around alot on the net and did some research and calculations and they should fit w/ out any issues (crossing my fingers)!!!

That is who i was gonna buy them from too. I saw a dude at LS1tech who got the silver ones. I asked him if they bolted right up without any major mods. I wlll post his answer later. They look really good on his car. I am psyched!, but a little tentative too.

jaysz2893
03-13-2009, 01:03 PM
well the dude at LS1tech never replied, so i went an bought them anyway. I got a set of Sumitomo (yeah I know) HTRZII's for them. I dont race (anymore) and i dont drive the car that much (less than 2000miles a year) so I cant justify expensive rubber that will dry rot before i wear them out. Tires/wheels should be here late next week. Will post pics ASAP. Did the whole deal for under $980.. WOOOT!!

LT1Blackbird
03-13-2009, 01:24 PM
Hell yeah! I run Sumitomo HTRZII's now. I like them a lot for the price. They grip pretty well in dry conditions, and last pretty good.

I'm gonna run em again on these wheels too.

I did hypersilver Z06's on my car for a while, but then i got the new hood and want to go all black and red. If you get black rims we will be twins for sure!!

I thought i was the only one with the scoop painted on the ultra-z hood :face_shocked:

what air box are you using?

LT1Blackbird
03-17-2009, 05:42 PM
17 x 11 Black ZR1's 50mm offset. (there are no scratches on the black, that is from the flash off of the polished aluminum)

Hopefully the 17 x 9.5's come tomorrow.

Not sure what Im going to do about the center caps yet tho...i dont think Ill keep the Vette ones on there..

I am using the Ultra Z airbox. It seems to be the same as a ram air firebird box. I cut all the baffles off of it though.

I think they sent them all at the same time. The 2 boxes I have are labeled 1 and 2 of 4. I guess 2 of them got hung up at UPS somewhere? Hopefully they show up tomorrow.

They do look good. These pics don't do them justice.
