It's a 1-man shop in Greenbrier, Tennessee. We had a guy on CZ28.com who "discovered" this guy, parroted a lot of his propaganda, posted a ton of his videos, and basically told us we were all fools for thinking in terms of "cookie cutter" "big industrial" head porters like Lloyd Elliot and AI.
Here's a link to the guy's heads:

But did his heads perform well is what I'm saying.

All we ever saw was this guys alleged dyno chart, which I believe showed about 420HP at the rear wheels. That plus a lot of excuses - "still have the stock throttle body", "heads have small valves", "my Pacesetters are only 1-5/8" "..... he was convinced that with a few minor adjustments he would have 450 at the wheels.
Unfortunately, he couldn't post without getting nasty and insulting people, so he was removed from the site (twice).

I remember that thread on cz28. I never said anything bad to the guy that started it and it seemed that he wanted to fight me lol. I can't say anything about the head porter himself but I was happy to see some videos of the work. From his comments in the videos he seemed to disagree with some of the ways the more popular porters use. I really would like to see more results of his work.

He said in his youtube comments it made 412whp with a 6spd. He also said with roller rockers and a TB and bigger headers it will be 450. Good luck.

Well I'm getting my heads and intake done with him for a good price.
So I'll be the guineapig and we'll see when it's together.

Has anybody heard of Headbytes? YES
All Ive seen are good results. All I've seen it one guy claiming they were miracle heads that no one else could replicate.
It's unfortunate that guy took the focus away from the head porters ability/product and put it on propaganda/rediculous claims. But if I was building something worth a damn I'd stick with people who know factory heads. Lloyd and AI have perfected the art. 10's on stock castings and a HR cam, that's getting it done. LPE, GTP, and a few other can do very well with them too.
A good build starts with proper planning. I just don't consider snake oil heads during that planning stage, I consider folks/products who have a decade of experience and results to draw from. 412rwhp is not stellar results with a M6 car and miracle heads. But if you've got the money to gamble, go for it, competition is a good thing, but I don't see them being the miracle they've been touted as.
What's your good price? I'm curious.

$1000 for heads and intake but, I buy springs ,retainers and valves.
I think with 20 years of porting the guy might know what he's doing buy now.
I read about the guy and it said he worked at three different shops over a 20 year period. That's sticking at each place for awhile and if your not good at your job they don't keep you around for that long.
He does spec cams but, I'm getting the cam somewhere else.

$1000 for heads and intake but, I buy springs ,retainers and valves.
LT1 LE2 heads consist of :
Manley 2.00/1.56 6000 series valves
Patriot Gold Extreme springs (155 lbs seat and 400 lbs open)
Steel retainers and locks
205 cc intake port
milling, cleaning and assembly
flow about 275/190 CFM
assembled and ready to bolt on!
$1300 for LT1 LE2 heads.
a bit confused about the price?

1000 for just the porting? thats a bit steep... your going to have a couple hundred into valves alone, and a couple hundred into springs and a couple hundred into seats, valve guides ect... and a couple hundred into a cam...

For that price id would definitely go with a more reputable porter. Like said above by the time you buy all the extras to add to the heads you have to ask if anyone heard of you could spend way less on proven power. I went with Lloyd and was very pleased with his prices and know how. And he's an all around good guy with vast amounts of ltx knowledge.

Not trying to poop on your parade, but for the same money I like Lloyd. I've got pretty good results from LE heads that are too small for my motor and that he thinks don't pour the 205cc that they do. I seriously thought you got both for $600 or something.
Youtube guy: 1000+250[spring kit]+250 [valves] = $1500
Lloyd LE2's with ported intake = $1500
...and Lloyd is damn good at spec'ing cams. Ask LS1speed Larry, Badhawk, Bolo...
I'm not saying the guy is a moron, but why gamble or leave some on the table for no gain, monetary or otherwise?

I was really hoping the guy that got the heads on the other site would have had posted up track times.

Ah I forgot I saw you were turbo'd. We'll boosted motors are alot more forgiving of head flow, certainly not like a N/A build that requires a bit more attention to details. I'm sure you'll be fine, but after years of dealing with companies in the performance world, few have the combined service, product, and communication you'll find with Lloyd. If he wasn't married... the things I would do...
Anyways, let us know how it goes. Want a real apples to apples, take them to Lloyd and get them flowed there. Lloyd's in Texas with you, testing on the same bench would help prove this guy a quack or head sorcerer.
Good luck.

Headbytes porting.. otherwise known as Thomas Sizemore, is a leading edge dirt bag. He seemed very knowledgeable and after promising me the world, including a you tube video of my heads being ported, I sent him a 50% deposit to port heads for me, sent him parts from my existing heads, and also had a new intake and other parts dropped shipped directly to him. After reading some reviews at this web site http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/transactions-feedback/3496062-warning-headbytes-porting-do-not-buy-anything-from-this-guy-company.html I contacted Thomas and asked if he wouldn't mind shipping the heads to me COD. I even offered to pre pay shipping. After what I saw I just wanted to have the heads in my hands before I paid for them. He absolutely refused. He told me if I didn't send him the rest of the payment using Walmart to Walmart cash transfer by the next day at noon he was going to sell my heads, keep my parts including my new intake and my $700 deposit and send me the you tube link to my "beautiful" heads being ported so I would see what I missed out on. Well after all that it was very clear to me that I better cut my losses. Why would anyone who was trust worthy refuse to ship COD? Why threaten me with keeping all my stuff and my deposit (which is exactly what he did). And guess what.. no you tube video.. who knows if he ever even had those heads, did anything with them if he did or maybe he hacked the hell out of them like he did to others at the link I provided. Word to the wise. Stay away, far away from Head bytes porting.

Sent my heads, intake and had valves, retainers and seals sent and excuse after excuse lead to nothing. Was told a video was being made on the intake porting and of course nothing. Thats the reason for my build stopping.

The underbelly of performance car work and restoration is one of the worst things out there with little relief for unsuspecting car owners.
Thank God for the network of good people who share experiences and good vendors who make things easier and do so on the up and up.
I'm sorry that happened to you, sir.

I know this is an old thread but I've been doing a lot of video watching lately, mainly because I've wanted to listen to some of the things these types of guys are talking about. Lloyd has become quite a good friend to me and Is a wealth of information and has even helped me with tips and tricks for dabbling with a set of heads of my own which I'llb end up having him do milling and valve job etc on. I pay close attention to what he tells me and then I listen to these types talk their mess and you realize just how far off base they are when compared to our guys who've proven themselves over and over again. I think from what I can tell there could be another one of these types on YouTube "Headflowinc" lots of talk but no proven results. And sadly to the OP, I know it's been a while and I don't know you but I do hope if you're still hanging around that you got your project back on track. I'll continue to support my boy, Lloyd!
