Maybe it's just me, but racing at closed airports and in industrial parks is not "driving them on the street."

They race on generally unprepped surfaces and have no trees. They also have curbs.

All of you guys butthurt about the promod are being silly. none of you guys whined about Kye having a promod when he destroyed all the OKC guys over and over and over again. The point of the list (and the whole show) is to be the fastest. You're not going to stay on top when you're running outdated stuff. The show would be pretty boring if it was all true street cars, because they're slow. If you guys were really that dead set on them being "street cars" you'd have never watched the show to begin with because not a single car on the list is a street car. If they were moving the show to the track then your complaints might hold some weight lol.

I could go and watch local guys street race all weekend long and not get bored with that...and none of em could prolly even get on the list. To each their own I guess. Besides, there's so much editing going on with the races on the show that we're not really getting a true depiction of how quick those cars really are anyway.

Honestly, commercial TV couldn't make that work with their current model. It would get "stale" in the eyes of the average viewer. Keep in mind, for every 1 enthusiast, there's probably 10 people watching just to see the drama.

That's why YouTube seems to be the better choice for the true enthusiast. You've got 1320 Video, TRC, and several others still showing the average Joe types in pretty good quality, without the fabricated drama.

So Im confused. Yesterday while watching street outlaws... chief was saying that he did not want to go PROMOD... but hinted that it may be what he does to keep up with people who keep getting faster....

I get it... and I know the show is behind, but I thought the CROWMOD replaced the CROW after the crash... yet hes running the crow still.

Correct, they are saving the crash for the end or towards the end. My buddy was one of the guest flaggers when Texas was in town last season. He hangs out with all those guys.

watched the 2 hour show from Monday last night, man that was a wicked wreck. Dave looked fast as hell last night against Shane, I can't wait to see him fuck Goad up next week. Hopefully they get the race off before Goad blows his trans to pieces (side note: that in car shot of his trans letting go is enough to make me want a scatter shield even for my slow ass car) or makes some other excuse. I really want to see the Crowmod and Plan B run each other on the street.

Also I like that Shawn doesn't come up with 100 excuses when he loses, just "good race, you were faster than me that time" and a hand shake. Great sportsmanship IMO.

Shawn brought up a good point, if the slower (or higher numbered) cars on the list are willing to run and you're not then move aside. Doc seemed scared from the beginning. He wasn't confident in his new setup working like the old stuff did and didn't want to lose his spot. To me if you're going to be #1 you should be ready to defend that at the drop of a hat, if you want a good surface go to the track.

Seemed like a whole lot of chickenshittery on Doc's part. It was funny watching Reaper (Or CReaper after 'Safari' joined the crew) get drug last night, I get so sick of his huffing and puffing trying to sound tough and then choking when it comes time to run. Funny how he's always threatening people but then needs to bring buddies with weapons to feel safe lol.

New podcast today, they talk a lot about what happened with Doc. Shawn and Doc agreed to be the third race of the night because that's the earliest Doc would make a pass. The first race of the night was Dominator and Jeremy, Second was Creaper and Shane with the oil down. So they were already supposed to be the next race, you can't really tell everyone else "Doc is supposed to be next but he want's you to go first and see if you crash before he decides", that's not fair to them. the way they flip flop the order of races in production makes it hard to follow sometimes.

It sounded like Doc and Monza were banking on the night being canceled after the oil down and that's why they stood around and watched a guy with a broken back out there scrubbing the road.

I think Doc and Monza have fear after watching what happened to chief.
After they all took time of and reworked there cars to make them lighter, different power adder ect.
The world of having metal frame street raced cars is becoming a thing of the past.

I would be hart broke if I had something happen to my camaro that I have owned for 17 yrs. With that being said I would not buld it into something that I would put it on the street as a purpose but race car, I would say on the street with the possibility of bing wreaked put we all do that when we choose to drive them on the street or track.

Buld a car to go racing that dose not have so much emotional value to you and if it has something happen then you can buld the next car with the salvaged drive-training.

The person that had the biggest reason to be scared about running was chief and he got out there in his brand new car in the bad lane and ran. The podcast really gives you the opportunity to hear more about what really happened and why. If you keep track of the road during the episodes you can tell that they are not always running in the order they are shown in. Doc wanted to finish the season at the #1 spot and wasn't confident in either the car or his ability to get it down the road and still be #1. Monza's issue was his son didn't think it was a good idea to run so he gave his spot up. I remember thinking when I watched the show last night, why wouldn't you at least see how the coin flip went. If you get the good lane, nothing to worry about. If not, leave hard and see if the other guy jumps. If he doesn't and you still don't feel good about it, just cruise down the road and see what happens. Other guy might cross. There were several ways to run that race without actually running it, but they all involve going to the line. You can't win without doing that first. Oh well. Doc doesn't have the chops to be at #1 anyways. It was fun while it lasted

I find chief to be annoying, bullying, and without a lot of integrity based on what I've seen. He's flip flopped on the pro mod stuff, pushed people around to get his way, etc.

In the end that's all it is, just a show. For what it is I enjoy it. I like to listen to the podcast to hear a little perspective on what happened behind the scenes.

i listened to the podcast today as well as watched the show last night and on the podcast Chief said that the reason he was pissed at doc was that first he didnt help try to clean the road and just stood there (with others) and watched as some of the producers and chief and shawn and their crews mopped up the street so they could continue. then when in the drivers meeting he was looking for a straight answer from doc on whether he was going to race or not. hell, i was getting annoyed at how doc was dancing around the answer. he is the number one guy that was slotted to defend his crown and wouldnt man up and say he didnt feel comfortable to race. if he ha just said no and gave up his spot, they would have moved on simple as that


I wanted to see Justin and the Old man with the Vet hat go at it though

Not that i've seen. Derrek posted about it too but just saying to keep him in your prayers. If they call in a helicopter i have to think it must have been pretty serious.

One thing i like about the production being involved is that is forces these guys to keep their cars safe. I'm pretty sure all their cars get teched before every race. At our local 'No ET' events they don't tech and you see some sketchy stuff like 8 second cars with no cage and a lap belt. I get keeping cars light but safty should come first IMO.

Off topic but going back a few days to the car you were looking at. Look out west, you'll find cars alot cheaper and no rust. Road trip it out and bring it back. Been really looking for a 67-72 C10, I stopped looking around here cause the rust and people want dumb money for a clapped out truck.

Be careful with those year c10's and finding a legit shortbed if ur lookin for it. Those are still money. If its a shorty check the frame, many many many of them are shortened longbeds. Unless you dont care, lol

I'd prefer a short bed but most likely find a unmolested long and shorten it myself with a brothers kit. Shorty's are money and can find really clean long beds for 5k less. 1500 into a bothers kit and a new bed would still put me on top.

Would agree the vaga moves. I'm sure that the vaga and many other cars at the bottom of the list or top of it for a matter of a fact can compete with Lutz, dave, chief or Henson

With that being said these are not your average car you would find running the street. If you look back at the first episode and session that was more realistic to how it worked in the mid 90s to 2000.

The episodes now you don't see them finding or setting up deals to have the cop o security turn there heads the other way and ears off.

Mentioned above the 90s ect if the boys in blue rolled up and everyone left like fast & furious and you were just happened to be sitting there they would ticket you.

I enjoy the show, with that being said I have never scene someone roll up trailered and have your shit like you were at the track.

I wondered that too. Chief clearly won, and if not pick a winner at least re-run it!! Very weird that he'd go from complaining about it only being $2,000 to being fine with walking away without getting paid.

Plus I find it extremely humorous that their big bad promod car gets drug by the rest of the small tire racing guys anytime they take it to an event

The promod engine limited to a 526. CI with a tourbo or with an 871. The bottle feed motors are 903 CI. Thr twin turbo's seem to be hard chargers 300 hundred feet of the track in 1/4 mile. I would agree that when they are messing with the different camera angles during the for the street outlaws it makes it very difficult see a good race.
